Application of phenolic foam in exterior wall insulation
Advantages and disadvantages of phenolic foam
The thermal conductivity of phenolic foam is only about 0.02w /m·K, and its fire resistance is non-combustible grade A.Compared with polystyrene foam and polyurethane foam, phenolic foam has better insulation performance and incomparable fire resistance. But phenolic foam also has some shortcomings, mainly in the foam is more brittle, easy to powder and so on.
Application and construction practices
In recent years, some companies have begun to make attempts in this field, and have successfully applied phenolic foam board to external wall insulation, achieving the ideal effect.
The main structure is wall, 1 3 cement mortar leveling layer, polymer bonded mortar, phenolic foam board, polymer surface mortar, glass fiber mesh cloth, anchoring parts, polymer crack resistant mortar, exterior finish, etc.
Construction technology and polystyrene board similar. The construction procedures are as follows: basic wall cleaning and leveling -- stretch control line -- paste phenolic foam board -- spread the first layer of polymer mortar -- spread the glass fiber mesh cloth -- spread the second layer of glass fiber mesh cloth -- decorative layer.
However, some defects of phenolic foam, such as brittleness and easy pulverization, also limit the application scope of this construction method. For example, after pasting the phenolic foam board with rubber hammer, if the force is too heavy, easy to occur phenolic foam board rupture and other conditions.
If a layer of material can be compounded on the surface of phenolic foam board to improve its strength, at the same time, this material has a good bonding performance with phenolic foam, mortar, putty and other materials, it will be a good choice. This can make up for the shortcoming of brittle phenolic foam and easy pulverization.
